Berkeley Academy takes on mega challenge in support of Sport Relief 2018

On Friday 23rd March, children and staff from Berkeley Academy will be taking part in a ‘Mega Mile’ or ‘Go-Go obstacle course’ in support of Sport Relief 2018.

Inspired by the gruelling challenges undertaken for Sport Relief by celebrities such as Davina McCall, Eddie Izzard and Jo Brand, children from Reception all the way up to Year 6 will run, jog or walk to collectively cover as many miles as we can. The Nursery children will be testing their skills in an obstacle course and dance-a-thon. All proceeds from the money we raise will go to Sport Relief to help vulnerable people, across the UK and the world to live happier, healthier and safer lives.

The challenge will be taking place throughout the afternoon in the KS2 playground. Mrs Panesar and Mrs Lewis will be there to cheer the children on.

Please encourage your child to collect as many sponsors as they can, by asking friends and family to donate to this worthy cause. No amount is too small and every penny will go towards making a difference. You will need to bring your sponsor forms and money back to school by Wednesday 28th March.

Miss Greenwood, PE Champion at Berkeley Academy said: “It’s so exciting to be involved in this year’s Sport Relief campaign and a fantastic opportunity for the children and staff to get active and raise money for such a brilliant cause.”
