National Writing Day- Everyone has a story to tell ...

- National Writing Day / 27th June 2018 -
Everyone Has A Story To Tell...

Teachers and pupils at Berkeley Academy participated in a free-writing call-to-action called Write Away! Free writing is also known as stream-of-consciousness writing. Participants need to set a timer and keep writing until the timer stops – it’s that simple. The theme for this year’s Write Away! was "I feel most free when..."

The idea was to see every pupil in the school engage with a 7-minute writing activity during the week, linked to the same theme. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the activity and lots were heard verbally sharing their pieces on the playground at social times.

Year 5 :
“I feel most free when it’s just my heart and me” Nathir
“I feel most free when I am in my bed sleeping. Nothing to do but dreaming”. Ilham
“I feel most free when there is no one to bother me, when I’m not pleaded to make the tea, when everyone likes to joke, when people are nice to other folk”. Amar
“I feel most free when I read. Whenever I read I feel like I am transported to another world - a calm and peaceful world”. Kawneet
“I feel most free when I’m at the beach I can see the aqua ocean just waiting for me to come closer so it can splash my face in this extraordinary burning weather. Life is freedom”. Emaan
“I feel most free when the weekend finally arrives”. Mohamed B
